You'll see a score across the four BAT pillars, which burnout stage you're likely in, and clear next steps for recovery.
What we look at
Burnout isn't one thing — it shows up in four quiet ways.
The check-in measures each gently, so you see the whole picture rather than a single number.
Exhaustion
The tiredness that sleep doesn't quite touch — physical, emotional, and mental depletion.
Mental Distance
Feeling detached from your work, your people, or even from yourself.
Cognitive Strain
Difficulty concentrating, holding things in mind, or thinking as clearly as you used to.
Emotional Strain
Feeling more irritable, overwhelmed, or numb than is normal for you.
“Burnout rarely arrives in one piece. It builds quietly — a long week, another, then a season — until what felt manageable no longer is.”

Two minutes.
Once a week.
Why a weekly pause helps
A small ritual that puts a hand on the wheel.
A regular check-in helps you notice patterns early, name what you're carrying, and make choices before the weight becomes too much.
No diagnosis, no judgement — just a quiet moment of honesty with yourself.
Ready when you are
Let's see where you are this week.
Twelve short questions. No right or wrong answers — just where you are, right now.

Frequently asked questions
Am I burnt out?
If you feel exhausted, mentally distant from work, and less able to cope than usual, you may be experiencing burnout. The quickest way to check is with a validated burnout test. This free BAT quiz takes about two minutes and gives you a clear score across the four main signs of burnout.
Is this burnout test free?
Yes. The Burnout Tracker is completely free, requires no account, and is based on the clinical Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT) developed by researchers at KU Leuven.
How accurate is an online burnout test?
The BAT is a validated clinical instrument used in occupational health research worldwide. It is not a diagnosis — only a qualified professional can diagnose — but it gives a reliable indication of where you sit across the four pillars of burnout: exhaustion, mental distance, cognitive strain, and emotional strain.
How long does the test take?
About two minutes. There are 12 short statements; you rate each on a five-point scale.
What happens to my answers?
If you opt in, your score is stored privately so we can send a confirmation email and (optionally) gentle weekly check-ins. You can unsubscribe at any time. If you don't opt in, nothing is saved.
I scored 'high risk'. What should I do?
Please reach out to your GP or a qualified therapist. The results page includes immediate next steps and signposting. You don't have to recover alone — burnout responds well to support.
